Position available: Center Director, FOCUS San Francisco – Part-time

The Fellowship of Orthodox Christians United to Serve (FOCUS) North America is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of part-time Center Director for its FOCUS San Francisco ministry location. Anticipated hours are between 20 and 25 hours per week ($30/hour).
The work of FOCUS San Francisco will occur at Holy Trinity Orthodox Church on Brotherhood Way, and require the director to be onsite for ministry events.
The FOCUS San Francisco Center Director is responsible for overseeing and implementing all aspects of the ministry. The ministry will host monthly meals at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, building on the parish’s weekly drive-up food pantry with additional services. This monthly rhythm of meals will eventually grow into a weekly schedule, complemented by additional services and special events as we discern the needs of our guests. The Center Director is also responsible for volunteer coordination, Advisory Committee management, and partnerships with other local organizations. The Center Director will work with the FOCUS North America Development Team to solicit donations and pursue grants to support and grow the ministry.
The position reports to the Director of Operations.
As an affiliated ministry of the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the United States of America, qualified candidates should have knowledge of and a willingness to work within the framework of the Orthodox Church. The ideal candidate will also possess the following experience and/or skill sets:
- Non-profit leadership experience;
- Experience managing a budget;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- A passion for service;
- A willingness and ability to solicit funds on behalf of the local ministry;
- An ability to work directly with those served by the ministry on a daily basis
- An ability to work cross jurisdictionally with local Orthodox parishes to engage volunteers to serve at the center (familiarity with and direct knowledge of local Orthodox parishes is a significant plus).
FOCUS has a team of support staff who work with its Center Directors in the above efforts including marketing and social media communications, management of local center financial information, and overall clarity of work and mission.
