This past weekend, by God’s grace, we served our very first meal to the children and families of Beardsley School. What unfolded was more than a meal; it was a beginning. Orthodox Christians from different parishes stood side by side, many meeting for the first time, preparing food, blowing up balloons, and learning one another’s names.

FOCUS North America is grateful to be taking meaningful steps toward establishing new Centers in two communities—each grounded in prayer, collaboration, and local leadership. This winter, Orthodox Christians from across the country came together to officially launch the Exploratory Committee process in both the DMV and San Diego areas, marking an important first step in discerning how FOCUS can best serve neighbors in need in these regions.

FOCUS North America’s mission of serving Christ in our neighbor continues to draw attention beyond our own community. In a recent interview with The National Herald, Executive Director Steven Christoforou reflects on the heart of FOCUS’s work—hospitality, dignity, and relationship—and how this mission is lived out through Centers across the country.
