San Juan Capistrano, May 19, 2020: Today the San Juan Capistrano Chamber of Commerce announced that, with cooperation from FOCUS Orange County, Orange County Food Bank, Waste Not OC, Bad to the Bone BBQ, The Fiesta Association, Ricardo’s, St. Basil Greek Orthodox Church, and St. Margaret’s Episcopal School, a weekly food distribution for those in need will be taking place. The Food Distribution is to assist those underserved in our community at this time of crisis.
The distribution will take place starting May 23, 2020 from 8am to 12pm (or until the boxes run out) and will last for 6 Saturdays in total, concluding on June 27, 2020. The distribution will take place at the St. Margaret’s Episcopal School parking lot accessible via the eastbound lanes of Ortega Highway just past Ranch Viejo Road.
Those wishing to receive grocery items are drive in only. Only one box/load per car, no exceptions due to the immense need. No car may line up for the event prior to 7am on the days of the event. No walk-ups will be accepted. Windows must be up at all times to keep our volunteers safe. Trunks must be opened when in line.
If you wish to volunteer at the distribution site, please sign up at: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050e4aaeaa2ca6fe3-sanjuan to be added to the volunteer list. All sign-ups must be done prior to the event. No walk in volunteers please.
